Anuk Agung Gedi Rai

Mr. A.A. Gede Rai of Bali, Indonesia, recently concluded a six year term as President Director of the Bali Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC) and exhibits quality executive level experience and expertise gained from his 35 years in the international hospitality and tourism industry.

Mr A.A. Gede Rai has extensive knowlegde of the Indonesian tourism industry, holding key positions in many major hotels in Bali, including the Vice President Marketing at Hotel Indonesia International Corporation and Natour Corporation and is currently a member of the Executive Committee for the Bali Tourism Board.

Since 1966, when he first entered the industry as Assistant to the Managing Director of HII Corporation’s Hotel Bali Beach, Mr.Rai (62) has had a distinguished professional career, much of this in the international hotel industry, prior to his appointment as BTDC’s Chief Executive in 1995.

Recipient of PATA’s coveted Award of Merit at PATA 1990 in Vancouver, Mr. Rai has also had a long involvement in that regional tourism body and in sister industry bodies, both within Indonesia and throughout South East Asia. He continues to serve as an Executive Committee Member of the Bali Tourism Board and remains an active Executive Committee Member of PATA’s Bali Chapter. Bali will be host destination for PATA 2003.
